Who is the best?

Top 10 Football Movies

10. Radio
Cuba Gooding Jr. has two football movies, but this is far better
than his other that made more money at the box office. His
performance was brilliant and maybe the best of his career.
9. Any Given Sunday
Al Pacino does it again. Pacino can put a movie he has done in
just about any top 10 catagory. This is no different.
8. Gridiron Gang
A great story about a coach and his juvenile delinquent players.
Dwayne Johnson has one of his best acting performances as it
shows another side of troubled teens.
7. We Are Marshall
A popular movie that inspired many sports teams after its' release.
A true story which is very much a theme in sports movies. This one
will certainly be around for a long time to come.
6. The Blind Side
Sandra Bullock gave a great performance as did all the actors. A
great true story of Michael Orr that had viewers glued to the
  screen.
5. Rudy
A football classic that created a little bit of controversy with the
scene of laying in the middle of the road.
4. Friday Night Lights
The movie was so good, they made a TV series of it. Critics
praised the movie as did viewers.
3. Invincible
Mark Wahlberg was outstanding in a movie based on a true story.
The story was memorable as was the action and Wahlberg's
  performance.
2. Brian's Song (1971)
A football classic and deserves to be noted as a great sports film.
Anyone that has not seen the movie, needs to get the dvd.
1. Remember the Titans
One of the best sports movies of all-time tops the list. Denzel
brought the movie to life. The great cast in the movie is
  spectacular from beginning to end.

  2. It isnt John Wayne him self. It is the character. If you take each character for its' own entity, they don't cut it. But one is in

(Posted on 2012-02-26 17:17:00 by havenshine)
  3. interesting on the cowboys...John Wayne will prob always rank as number one for me. When I think Cowboys I think of him...or westerns in general I think of him.

(Posted on 2012-02-04 20:15:00 by Becky)
  4. on the love song list... number 2 "Unchained Melody" is my wedding song. Can't believe I"ll be married 20 years on june.

(Posted on 2011-03-13 17:35:00 by Becky)
  5. I actually know most of the names in the top 10 one name celebrity list... def agree with Cher being number one.

(Posted on 2011-03-13 17:34:00 by Becky)
  6. We need a topic for the next Top 10. Any thoughts?

(Posted on 2011-02-21 12:00:00 by havenshine)
  7. omgs...how could i forget this one... Tory's death... I just loved, LOVED when the Chief killed her...bitch that she was... I cheered!

(Posted on 2011-01-05 12:43:00 by Becky)
  8. Tasha was so sudden...I didn't find it a "great" death...and even though I LOVE Trip on Enterprise...his death was rushed as well. Dee was rushed but it was the point it was making that made it hit home...

(Posted on 2011-01-05 12:41:00 by Becky)
  9. Rosalin was in the mix as was dr. mark green of ER. Amber of house was in there as well. #11 was Lt. tasha yar. also wanted to put a few others but only 10 spots

(Posted on 2011-01-05 12:28:00 by havenshine)
  10. I'd like to just throw out one more...her death happened off camera...but Archie mourning her death still makes me cry when i see it...Edith Bunker.

(Posted on 2011-01-04 16:40:00 by Becky)
  11. I would have added Ellen on BSG as well... Tigh killed her because she betrayed the resistance (Tigh is he husband) but I won't only because we found out later she was a Cylon and was not truely dead...even though at the time we thought she was.

(Posted on 2011-01-04 16:33:00 by Becky)
  12. Sun, Jin, Charlie, Blake, Dee ... I agree with all of these...
I'd like to add some that still bring tears to my eyes - Roslin on BSG...we knew her death was coming but the way they filmed it...waterworks I tell you, could not keep my eyes dry. Serena (played by Jane Seymour) still brings a tear to my eye as well in the original BSG. Marcus on Babylon 5...I again...tears. Torchwood on the BBC America...over the past year...my goodness 3 main characters died and I not only had tears but was sooo hoping for a last minute save...and the last ep... Capt Jack sacrificed his young grandson to save all the other children of the world...his daughters begging him not too, the haunting look in his eyes as he did it... omg was horrible and so well written and acted at the same time...and so real... how many shows would have a father or grandfather sacrifice his young (10 years old i think) son/grandson for the world? You see adults sacrifice themselves all the time...but their offspring?

(Posted on 2011-01-04 16:31:00 by Becky)
  13. Super Grover...lmao!!! I use to love The Greatest American Hero...I have some of the eps on DVD. I watched the Incredible Hulk, Batman, Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman all the time. I think Wonder Woman is probably my favorite on this list. I wish they would hurry up and make that Wonder Woman movie already!!!

(Posted on 2010-12-15 18:13:00 by Becky)
  14. I missed that TV heroes...no.6 wonder woman I ever had a dream to be like her :D

(Posted on 2010-12-12 05:05:00 by surya)
  15. hmmm...I don't really concider Vader a villian...more a victim... I'd say Palpatine was the villian.

(Posted on 2010-11-17 15:15:00 by Becky)
  16. I haven't seen all of these but I really enjoyed A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and FIELD OF DREAMS.

(Posted on 2010-09-07 20:21:00 by Becky)
  23. I love the look of the whitestars on B5 and Destiny on SGU is growing on me as well. The re imagined Cylon raiders are way cooler then the old (sorry) and I love the re imagined Galactica and Pegasus.

(Posted on 2010-09-07 20:19:00 by Becky)

Top 10 TV Bad Ass Women

10. Bo Dennis (Lost Girl)
Anna Silk plays the succubus on this Canadian supernatural crime
drama. My suggestion is to download it and watch. You won't be
  sorry.

9. Olivia Dunham (Fringe)
Anna Torv brings a soft side along with her ability to take down
criminals, no matter what kind of alien form or dimention on the
  FOX sci-fi drama.

8. Kate Beckett (Castle)
Currently my favorite crime drama as Kate not only kicks butt, but
she looks hot doing it. She brings the perfect balance between
  hard edged and passion.

7. Max Guevara (Dark Angel)
Jessica Alba was noticed because of this role. A genetically
enhanced super-soldier who was also super hot.

6. Brienne of Tarth (Game of Thrones)
Gwendoline Christie plays the sword wielding warrior that can take
on any opponent. You have to be a bad ass if you are going tobe a
warrior in medevil times as a woman.

5. Nikita (Nikita)
Maggie Q plays a woman who escaped from a secret Government-
funded organization that trained spies and assassins. She comes
back after 3 years in hiding to fight against the organization and
  kicks some serious butt.

4. Jaime Sommers (Bionic Woman)
It all basically started here for kick ass women. Lindsay Wagner
played the long time character that staterd in the Six Million Dollar
Man TV show. Fans loved her so much with her ability to kick butt
and being the girl next door type, she got her own series.

3. Wonder Woman (Wonder Woman)
Linda Carter was the perfect Wonder Woman. Her beauty and
charm had every man wanting her to lasso them. Obviously being a
super hero, she did more than her share of kicking butt.

2. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Sarah Michelle Gellar was made for the role. It is not every day a
small town girl has to protect everyone from the portal of hell, but
she does it and does it so well.

1. Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)
Lucy Lawless plays Xena and at the time, every mans dream was
to be with her. Except of course all of them that she defeated in
battle. She started as a ruthless warlord and is seeking
redemption by helping people with her skills as a warrior.

Top 10 Worst Movie Vacations

6/22/11

10. Vacation
You know it's a bad vacation when a relative dies, you drag your pet 5 miles and when you finally reach your destination and it is closed.
9. Wolf Creek
When back packing in the middle of nowhere, make sure you bring garlick a wooden stake, a cross and a silver bullet.
8. Brokedown Palace
When in Asia, try to remember not to smuggle drugs over the boarders.
7. The Ruins
When traveling, you may want to reconsider visiting mystical ruins in the middle of nowhere.
6. The Hills Have Eyes
When driving across country, don't rely on directions from creepy gas station attendants and make sure you know exactly where you are going and don't run out of gas.
5. Texas Chainsaw Masacre
Bad vacations are obvious if you are about to be eaten for dinner. And make sure you can outrun that creepy old guy and the large deformed guy with a chainsaw.
4. Hostel
Make sure when in other countries, that someone at the hotel you are staying at knows where you are heading to. Maybe leave a message on Facebook too.
3. Deliverance
When rafting or canoeing down a river in the middle of nowhere, you never know what craziness is out there. "Squeel like a pig."
2. Open Water
There may be no worse feeling like when you are scuba diving and try to return to the boat and it's gone. There you are floating alone in shark infested waters knowing you are shark bait.
1. Titanic
All the victims made a horrible choice to sail on the indistructable ocean liner. Royale Caribbean it is not.

Top 10 Rivalries

10. Superman vs Lex Luther/ Batman vs The Joker
This was an almost impossible task narrowing it down to ten. So I went with eleven and could have been over twenty. Batman and The Joker made a huge appearance with Keaton/Nicholson and people thought that Nicholson was the greatest villain ever…until of course The Dark Knight came out a Heath Ledger was remarkable. Superman had his own problems with Lex Luther in a few movies and despite Superman’s powers, has had a difficult time with Luther.

9. Marty McFly vs Biff
Back to the Future had these two battling for three movies. In the end, Marty won, but he had to change the future in order to do it.

8. Chief Brody vs Great White Shark
The battle between the two was epic. In the first movie, he was all but finished until he sat on the mast of a sinking boat and shot the tank in the sharks mouth to blow It up. The second movie, had what could be a relative of the first shark, taunting Brody throughout the movie and then getting electrocuted for Brody to win a second time. That was enough to drive Chief Brody from the franchise.

7. Captain Kirk vs Khan
This is an epic rivalry from one of the greatest franchises in the history of movies. Shatner and Ricardo Montelbon were a perfect match and Trekkies everywhere will tell you this is number one.

6. John McLane vs Hans Gruber
One of the best movie franchises was all started from this rivalry. This movie showed that a hero doesn’t have to be untouched, but instead battered and bruised. It was such a great rivalry, they brought Hans Gruber’s brother back in part 3.

5. The Bandit vs Smokey
Burt Reynolds and Jackie Gleason were fantastic. Gleason, as the cop trying to track down Bandit as they raced across the country…in two movies. Gleason made the chase funny as he kept getting foiled in each attempt.

4. Neo vs Agent Smith
Constant battles between the two went on for three movies. Fans wanted more and more and cried for a fourth movie that never came.

3. Harry Potter vs Lord Voldermort
The Potter franchise is one of the most successful of all-time and this rivalry will live forever. Voldermort appeared in all the Potter films except for “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” the third installment of the franchise.

2. Rocky Balboa vs Apollo Creed
Their two epic battles were so great, it got a fictional character a statue in Philadelphia. The first movie, Rocky almost surpassed Creed but just fell short. He then won the championship in Rocky 2 and the rivalry was huge. What makes the rivalry was the fact that Apollo mentions he could have won a couple times in Rocky 3 and they actually got in the ring at the end of the movie.

1. Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader
Luke and Darth Vader are two of the most recognizable characters in movie history. Their epic battle scene is a classic as Luke and his father were on opposite sides of good and evil.

Honorable mentions
As I said at number 10, it was hard to pick out who should be in. These are some of the rivalries that were being considered for the top 10 in no particular order:
Optimus Prime/ Megatron, Samwise vs Golem, Happy Gilmore/ Shooter McGavin, Wild Think/ The Duke, T-1000/ T-2000, Cinderella/ Evil Stepmother, Carl Spackler/ The Gopher, Jeff Spicoli/ Mr. Hand, Kevin/ Marv & Harry, Dorothy/ Wicked Witch of the West, Daniel LaRusso/ Johnny Lawrence, USA/CCCP (The Miracle)
